IB PYP and CBSE describe different parts of a child's educational pathway. PYP is an inquiry-based primary-years framework; CBSE is an Indian school education board. Compare the learning experience and the programme offered at your child's grade, then ask how the school manages later transitions.
What is the IB Primary Years Programme?
The International Baccalaureate describes PYP as a framework for children aged 3–12. It connects learning across subjects and encourages children to ask questions, investigate ideas and reflect on their learning. See the official PYP overview. What does CBSE mean for parents?
CBSE is the Central Board of Secondary Education. Parents should check a school's affiliation and the curriculum, subjects and assessment arrangements for the relevant class. The CBSE curriculum resources provide a starting point; the school should identify the current academic-year syllabus it follows.

Does PYP authorisation cover every IB programme?
No. PYP, MYP and the Diploma Programme are separate authorisations. A PYP record should not be treated as evidence that the same campus offers MYP or DP. The IB programme guide explains the stages.
Which approach will suit my child?
Begin with your child's current stage, prior schooling, learning needs and likely future moves. Ask both schools how they teach reading, writing and mathematics, how they support a child joining mid-pathway, and how they communicate progress. The quality of the classroom experience matters alongside the programme name.
A board or programme label does not by itself establish teaching quality, exam success, university access or a child's future outcomes. Compare actual provision rather than treating either pathway as universally better.
Are PYP school fees always higher?
Costs vary by school, grade and what is included. Compare written fee schedules for the same year and ask about tuition, admission charges, transport, learning materials and other applicable costs. SNIS's current fees are available from admissions; third-party estimates are not an approved school fee schedule.
